Meet Gershwin!

The first high school student to be responsible for this system named the central console "Gershwin." Rhapsody in Blue is a favorite in our house, so the name stuck and we decided to name the

The Gershwin System is a completely wireless, portable, extendable PA system. Recharge overnight and enjoy hours of music at high volumes and quality the next day!

Gershwin - the Brain

Gershwin is the central console and essentially the heart of the system. Your configuration could vary, but our standard configuration consists of 8 wireless microphone receivers and an 8 channel mixing board. Bluetooth is an option. The board is connected to a stereo transmitter which sends the output to George and Ira via industry standard UHF transmission for real-time sound over a good distance.

There is nothing keeping you from connecting a wired input (like a microphone or keyboard or phone) to the mixer, but we prefer to keep everything wire free because that's one less thing to maintain or trip over!

Right now it is possible to expand Gershwin to 12 wireless receivers, but the mixing experience is slightly more complicated. And we could help you build a larger system if you need it; it just depends on what you need and your size and weight limitations.

Gershwin is a self-contained unit with a shoulder strap and weighs approximately 30 pounds.

George and Ira - the Brothers

George and Ira are portable speaker stacks that can be pole mounted or placed on stands at an upward angle. Each stack consists of a speaker (we're currently using speakers with a 12" woofer, but we might choose something else for your environment) which is semi-permanently attached to a wireless receiver, an amplifier, and a battery. To be honest, we were impressed the first time we heard the speakers, and it's not uncommon for someone to say "wow, that sounds good" without them knowing how little we spent on them. George and Ira each weigh approximately 30 pounds making them quite reasonable to carry and lift.

Your results may vary, but we've successfully moved George and Ira 300 feet (yes, a football field) away from Gershwin and enjoyed the music. Under nearly ideal (but very real world) conditions we were able to have a wireless microphone approximately 150 feet away from Gershwin for over 2 hours with no issues.

There is no reason to only have two speakers. It is easy to add additional speakers now or later to the Gershwin system.
